About Umesh Kumar Cartoonist

Early Life & Education
Umesh Kumar Singh is a passionate and accomplished cartoonist with a strong technical foundation. He completed his Mechanical Engineering degree from one of India’s premier institutions, B.I.T. Mesra, in 1989. Though he built a successful professional career in the power plant industry, his heart always belonged to art.
Journey as an Artist
A self-taught cartoonist, illustrator, and graphic designer, Umesh has an exceptional natural talent for freehand sketching. Known for his quick yet precise drawing skills, his editorial cartoons stand out for their fine detailing, thoughtful composition, and distinctive humor that instantly engages readers.
Umesh began sketching at the age of nine and continued to refine his craft over the years. Encouraged by appreciation from colleagues, friends, and admirers, he pursued cartooning more actively and went on to collaborate with several newspapers and magazines across India.
With over 35 years of experience, he remains one of the most admired artists in his field.

Today, Umesh Kumar Singh is the Founder and CEO of Cartoon Trip, a Cartoon and Drawing Study Center based in Visakhapatnam.
Cartoon Trip is dedicated to nurturing artistic talent in learners of all ages, offering a creative platform that blends education, imagination, and artistic expression.
